First time here. I wanted some chilaquiles as I am from Southern California and needed some authentic Mexican food. I was not disappointed, the location was near a deli and I ordered the tamarindo mezcal margarita and the red chilaquiles. I was so pleased with the our service and I believe the owner even hosted and waited our table. The food was beyond amazing and authentic to every point. The location is beautiful but small. They play a lot of good music.
How Tulcingo can be anything less than 5 stars is unimaginable based on our experience. The guacamole was the best we've had. The goat was so moist and flavorful. The pork ribs exceptional. Irma (owner) smiled and said her husband (chef) would take good care of me. He did. And did I say how good the margaritas are? The space is cozy and intimate.
I don't know what was going on there for a minute but the Tulcingo I love seems to be back! No more hit or miss! The food we've been getting has been fresh and not freezer burnt. The flautas are simply incredible! The huevos en salsa are good. The tamales with cheese and jalapeños are delicious.
This was the best meal we had on our NYC trip. Also the best service and most reasonably priced. Everything was great!
From the moment I walked into Tulcingo, I was transported straight to my mother's kitchen. The flavors in every dish were an instant reminder of the comfort and warmth I grew up with. Ordering the red chilaquiles was the recommendation from the host, in terms of spice(they are way more spicy than green but both were so flavorful.) As soon as I took my first bite, I was transported back home. Each bite was bursting with the kind of authentic taste you only find in family recipes. The presentation of the food was nothing short of artful, with each plate arriving like a masterpiece, carefully crafted and thoughtfully prepared. It was clear that the team at Tulcingo puts as much care into how the dishes look as they do into how they taste. But the experience didn't stop with the food. The service was absolutely spectacular--attentive, warm, and friendly, making me feel right at home. The staff truly knows how to make you feel special, and their passion for the food and culture shines through. To top it off, the drinks were a perfect complement to the meal. Refreshing, vibrant, and full of flavor, they elevated the entire dining experience. Getting a double margarita is the way to go, so do not order that ;) Tulcingo isn't just a restaurant; it's a place where the soul of Mexico lives in every dish, and where you can feel like family the moment you walk through the door. I can't wait to return when I come back to New York!
